About Rebecca

Rebecca, the artist, has harboured a lifelong passion for painting and drawing, nurtured since her earliest years. Her artistic vision draws heavily from her extensive travels and the tapestry of her immediate surroundings. Predominantly working with pastels and oils, she finds inspiration in the vibrant hues of the Australian outback, where she resided for a significant period.

Her wanderlust has led her across continents, with family holidays weaving through the colourful landscapes of India, Nepal, South East Asia, and the Middle East. It's amidst the bustling vivacity of these locales that she finds stories to convey through her art, capturing the essence of daily life with each stroke.

Growing up by the sea has imprinted a fondness for beach scenes within her artistic repertoire, particularly relishing the depiction of carefree moments with children basking in the sun and sand.

Presently residing in the picturesque county of Hampshire, Rebecca is an active member of the artistic community. She finds camaraderie and mentorship at the Crossbarn Art Group in Odiham, under the tutelage of her art teacher, Jamel Akib, whose guidance has been instrumental in her artistic journey. Her works grace the exhibitions of Crossbarn Art, Fleet Art Society, and Odiham Art Society regularly, showcasing her talent and dedication. Additionally, she holds the esteemed position of an exhibiting member at the Farnham Art Society, further cementing her presence in the regional art scene.
