About Ria

Hampshire born Ria taught herself to paint in oils at age 19 and eventually gained BA Hons Fine Art in 2005 as a mature student.

Ria has a strong sense of place and her landscape work, both abstract and representative, is concerned with the memory and feeling of a place, the ‘stuff’ of paint and her process. She works in oils, acrylic and soft pastel as well as drawing, in all its forms, which remains her fundamental discipline.
