About Sue

Sue graduated in 2003 from UCA, Farnham as a mature student with a leaning towards soft sculpture and installations. Winning a private commission from her degree show, she then went on to take part in group exhibitions around the wider Surrey and Hampshire locations including; Farnham, Winchester, Haslemere, Cranleigh and Walton on Thames. Sue studied for a teaching qualification and gained her Cert. Ed. In 2006 taught GCSE and Art A/O through the adult education program run by Farnborough College of Technology. However, around 2010 Sue fell out of love with the art making process and had a complete break, preferring to concentrate on family life, and her job, running an office for a local charity. During lockdown in 2020, and having time on her hands during a period of unexpected furlough, she started experimenting with coloured pencils, to see if she could rediscover her love of drawing by doing a portrait of her best friend’s dog. This was a turning point which led to her to progress further, and return to teaching a couple of drawing classes for Livingstones in Fleet.
